Betty Kidd Williams Carr
Betty Kidd Williams Carr, 76, of Weldon, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Carr was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late Charles Trilby Kidd and Bessie Bateman Kidd. She was a member of Weldon United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd H. “Jr. Boy” Williams, Jr., two sisters, Lucille Gukich and Jean Hux, and one brother, Charles Claude “CC” Kidd.
She is survived by her husband, James “Pork Chop” Carr; two daughters, Angie W. Smith and her husband, Leslie “Root”, of Halifax and Kim W. Lyons and her husband, Bobby, of Roanoke Rapids; two sons, Sandy Williams and his wife, Patricia, of Hampton, VA and Craig Williams and his wife, Susan, of Roanoke Rapids; one stepdaughter, Peggy C. Johnson and her husband, Jay, of Raleigh; two stepsons, Dwane Carr of Roanoke Rapids and David Carr and his wife, Tina, of Halifax; eight grandchildren, Sandy Williams, Jr., Wendy W. Lamb, Ryan Williams, Charlie Williams, Jeffrey Smith, Patrick Smith, Zach Lyons, and Chris Lyons; four step grandchildren, Ryan Carr, Derrick Carr and his wife, Jensey, Kevin Carr and Dory Johnson; four great-grandchildren; three nieces, Margaret True, Cheryl Walker, and Dot Rumsey; and one nephew, Eli Gukich.
Askew Funeral & Cremation Services is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends Tuesday, July 1, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Kim and Bobby Lyons, 1506 Pruden St., Roanoke Rapids. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Sue Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
